♥ DAILY LOVE TIP – Wednesday October 12, 2011
The trailer below for the documentary film MISS REPRESENTATION has been getting some great comments on my personal and our ♥Institute for Relationship Development Facebook page and I want to share it with you as well. I invite you to notice the impact on you as you watch it….
♥MIRRORING EXERCISE: Share with someone what stood out for you and impacted you.
Let me just digress here to offer an invitation to those of you who haven’t yet discovered our Facebook page to come and visit us there –http://www.facebook.com/InstRelDev
What we are About is – Spreading ♥LOVE, HAPPINESS, HOPE & POSITIVITY in the World by educating people about quality ♥RELATIONSHIPS – one of our visions is to halve the divorce rate in Australia by 2015 and then by example the world. If you would like to support us to make this dream come true please join our community and our Page by clicking on ‘Like’ on the Facebook page & invite your friends along too….
My intention both on our Facebook page and with susiesheartpathblog is providing a space where you can engage with us and with the ♥LOVE-ing community of those who are ‘walking’ the ♥Heartpath of conscious relationships…..people who choose to create and live in a ZNZ Zone, people who honour and validate the reality of ‘the other’ and who ‘cross the bridge’ into ‘the other’s’ world……people who daily make choices and actions about becoming and being more ♥LOVE-ing…….people who care that their partners and families and friends and the wider community feel ♥LOVE-d and ♥LOVE-able…and respected…
Imagine a world where everyone knows how to communicate with each other – where people both respectfully listen and talk and truly hear each other…..and feel heard. Imagine how different the world would be if it was the norm for everyone to learn how to be in a relationship and how to be a parent…………..and that the Resources and ♥TOOLS to become relationally intelligent were available to all.
You know if each of you came and visited and invited just one friend we could double our impact and influence – and the same goes for this blog – how exciting!!!…Let’s ♥♥Pay It Forward and spread the word out into your communities and then into inspiring the wider society……about happy, ♥LOVE-ing, successful, conscious relationships and families…The link to our page is – http://www.facebook.com/InstRelDev – and it is our pleasure to serve you…..Thank you for caring.
“Never doubt that a small, committed group of thoughtful individuals can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” ~Margaret Mead
It touches me that so many more people from all walks of life are embracing this dream and are caring about the quality of the world we live in and the one that our children and grand children will grow up in…..which brings us back to the video clip about the film…
They are inviting people to pledge to see the film – MISS REPRESENTATION – and to use your voice to spread the word about the change you want to see for women and girls….The film premieres October 20th on OWN.
Young people are being sold the concept that women and girls’ value lies in their youth, beauty and sexuality. It’s time to break that cycle of mistruths and the documentary believes that all people should be equally represented in our media, that our voices should be heard and that we should all be valued for our talents, capacity as leaders, and ability to contribute to the world at large.
On their website http://www.missrepresentation.org/ there is an education page and they are offering a comprehensive curriculum and resources to empower youth….
I like one of their taglines which is – You can’t be what you can’t see…which is such a potent statement……and one of the things it brings up for me the importance of the influence and model we can all individually have with the children around us in our homes and communities………I appreciated the comment ♥Jodie made on the trailer on our Facebook page –
“Interesting – though I still think the most powerful influences in my life were/are my parents and teachers and parent’s friends….also one of the reasons I haven’t gone for top positions of leadership right now is that I enjoy and value being a mum – being a leader at home – (and that for me means not working long hours which I have found professional leadership positions often require) – at least until our kids are in their late teens…………I think changing the world does not necessarily require being the big news anchor or president – it can mean being a powerful loving role model to all the people we know and encouraging kids to laugh off/ignore the campaigns in mags and on tv, by doing that ourselves. Also it’s important to focus on what is working, and my daughter loves spy kids OMG that mum is amazing!! Plus there are plenty of powerful girl shows like buffy, Xena, Good Wife, etc……”
The invitation is to take action daily which is something I know women like ♥Jodie do in their roles as mothers, as partners, in their careers and other community leadership positions. As Jodie says, there are many ways to make a difference.
We teach about starting with what one can do right now – what is one small action – or micro-MOVE-ment you can do to start changing things…….and starting with working on yourself and your relationships – in your home, your family, your neighbourhood, your workplace and whatever communities you are a part of….
Feeling much ♥HOPE and encouraged by all of you reading this and the changes you are making as well as by the powerful and visionary women who made the film that we are making a difference in our world……And how special it is that three women have just been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 2011. The Nobel committee’s statement was that “We cannot achieve democracy and lasting peace in the world unless women obtain the same opportunities as men to influence developments at all levels of society”…
Enthused and expectantly, LOVE SUSIE♥
