♥Gratitude….turning what we have into enough, & more…

♥ DAILY LOVE TIP – Wednesday January 11, 2012

Greetings to you special LOVELIES,

I am grateful for You! Your reading turns my blog….my writings into a visit with a friend…. a chat with a friend…..how wonderful, how nourishing for me!

I love this concept of turning what we have into enough, into more…….it’s a practice that would be great for every parent and grand-parent to teach their children…..for all of us to be teaching the children by living it…..

A good place to start is by doing a ledger of what we already have…. it’s time to turn all that we have into enough, into abundance….Some of you spent time last year writing out My ♥favourite things…..each day for a few months…See  DAILY LOVE TIP – Sunday July 31, 2011 – a few of my favourite things ……… https://susiesheartpathblog.wordpress.com/2011/07/31/a-few-of-my-%E2%99%A5favourite-things/

Going back and looking at all of those would be a good place to start your inventory…. this post shares about different ways to start documenting them as well. Having some sort of Gratitude journal is a must.

Says Sarah Ban Breathnach ~ “If you want to travel this journey with me, the gratitude journal is not an option…….. Why? Because you simply will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life. And you will have set in motion an ancient spiritual law: the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given you.”

A friend of mine simply shares each day on Facebook another things she is grateful for. Sending out an email would be another way to do it….Some families share one thing each that they are grateful for at their dinner table…… or you can just privately write it in your own Gratitude journal. How do you do it?

And today is a good day to start. Whichever day you start is a good day.

Question for you: Is being grateful and feeling blessed ‘your default setting’ or is scarcity and lack the lens you see through?  What do you need to unlearn to move into gratefulness and abundance?

I had some great technical feedback from Elizabeth’s in her comment on Saturday’s post which I wanted to share as well as ‘a shout out’ from her…..thanks Elizabeth….

“……I wanted to offer you technical feedback on why some folks might not be responding to your posts. In order to ‘like’ your post, one must be signed up for a WordPress blog. In order to reply, one must go through a signing on process, which, in the long run is not lengthy, but does require pausing and taking a bit of extra time.

So – this is also a shout out to those who run into snags with liking and responding – to go that extra step – because it will fuel more reciprocity and keep Susie wholeheartedly offering us her gems of insight, wisdom, and support along the rugged and righteous path of softening our hearts to ourselves and each other.”

So the deal is for you to make comments you need to sign up for WordPress……note that this won’t result in any spam or anything if you feel cautious. Don’t forget to check – Notify me of follow-up comments via email – so you will receive any replies to your comments. A reminder also that you have the option of just clicking LIKE on the bottom of the blog. Please let me know if you have a go at doing this and there are any glitches or you need more instructions or help. I have been on a few blogs and tried to comment and have not been able to for a number of reasons so understand the frustration if it is not working for you.

🙂 Bye for now – I sign off with a full and grate-full heart…... LOVE Susie.

    Morning Susie
Sunrise and a cooling breeze, the cat perched behind me purring, shedding yet more fur…

    I concour most heartedly !!
The concept of gratitude is often one thats lifts me when I feel low, its like a magic pill, a soothing balm. One of the ways I did this when my girls were young, was to ask at bed time as they were being tucked in, or i would lie down on the bed for a cudddle and they would tell me, what the best part of their day was. Even now 20 years later its a phrase that came up on our recent holiday. I hope today you have many ‘best parts’ to your day

I love how reading your comments turns into a smile on my face and then in my heart……imagining sunrise,… a cooling breeze,… the cat purring,….still shedding fur 🙂 …you there having breakfast ‘chatting’ with me……
Love the concept of gratitude “lifts me when I feel low,…….like a magic pill, a soothing balm………”.
Also love the image of you tucking in and lying with and cuddling your beautiful ♥girls and them sharing the best part of their day……..Bedtimes always was a very precious time for me with ♥my girls…..always the sweetest kisses and mellow sharing time……it also reminds me of a nightly ritual ♥Shelton and I have done often, and still do at times, which is share our HIGH for the day lying in each others arms before we go off to sleep – another way of saying what we are grateful for – probably good to consciously word it as what we are grateful for – lifts it another level in my heart I think…..
And Yes thank you, today has had many ‘best parts’ to it. LOVE Susie♥

    Hi Susie,

I read and re-read your blogs, go back over some and forward them to clients and friends. There is always something relevant to my day, my life at the time and to what my friends and family and clients are going through. Your blogs are a wonderful source of inspiration, a motivation to stop and think about the bigger questions, to know ourselves better and to give us tools to enjoy life, let go of the past and to make the bigger picture even bigger.
Being a busy person, I often don’t have time to comment but please know that I do read your blogs every day (or several in one sitting) and appreciate you and your efforts.
    Have a wonderful day.

    Chris

Susie – this post reminds me of a phrase Tara Brach shares in one of her dharma talks (reference forgotten): “I have no complaints, thank you for everything.” What a radical anthem to lead us through moments of forgetfulness. I’m moving into today with your invitation to MAKE TODAY RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING! In this moment before sunrise – I am truly grateful for everything! Yes – even the hard bits that make me dig deeper or resilience and wisdom. Radical, zany, without explanation gratitude makes me want to get out there and spread the joy. Your posts have that effect upon me. 😉

    • Dear ♥Elizabeth, Isn’t it weird that we don’t naturally wake up with the idea to MAKE TODAY RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING! Thanks for making this choice today…… and Everyday hey?
I’ve enjoyed some of the talks you have posted of Tara Brach on your page -http://www.facebook.com/ThimbleIslandCounselingElizabethStrazar?ref=ts and do intend to share her work and wisdom on the blog soon. Thanks for reminding me.
Wow what a place to get to – “I have no complaints, thank you for everything.”
Let me repeat your great, fully alive, jumping all over the place, energised sentence which I love so much –
“Radical, zany, without explanation gratitude makes me want to get out there and spread the joy.”
I am touched and blessed that my posts have that effect on you. Big ♥LOVE and gratitude to you, Susie♥♥
